Discipline is the foundation of any revolution – Bobi Wine tells NUP members
Members of NUP, many of them youth, have come under scrutiny for being undisciplined, especially on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
The leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, commonly known as Bobi Wine, has encouraged members of the leading opposition political party in the country to be disciplined because good behaviour is the foundation of any revolution.
“I am glad to see that despite all the challenges we have endured, these comrades are still united and committed to the cause of liberating our country,” Bobi Wine said.
He was Tuesday meeting NUP members who organize themselves under different groups at an end-of-year reunion event in Kampala. He appreciated them for their great work throughout the year and encouraged them to do even more this coming year.
Members of NUP, many of them youth, have come under scrutiny for being undisciplined, especially on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter where they attack people who oppose their NUP and especially Bobi Wine who holds cult status in the popular party.
Even some Members of Parliament belonging to NUP have faced the House’s disciplinary committee or have been arrested on numerous occasions. For this, there has been an outcry asking Bobi Wine to prevail over his party members.
And with this message preaching discipline, it looks like Bobi Wine is responding to these calls especially now when the party is faced with different political challenges like the re-emergence of Forum for Democratic Change and the Muhoozi Project which aims at making Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, President Yoweri Museveni’s son, the president of this country.
