Police arrest sodomist who defiled 8 male pupils

Facts gathered by police indicate that the suspect possesses a garden of guavas, which he has been using to attract the victims. He thereafter caused them to enter his house and sexually molest them.

Police in Kamwenge district have arrested one Junior Jackson,22, living in Mirembe cell, Nyakahama Parish in Kamwenge district for aggravated defilement and sodomy of 8 male pupils of Mirembe Primary School, aged between 7-15 years.

Facts gathered by police indicate that the suspect possesses a garden of guavas, which he has been using to attract the victims. He thereafter caused them to enter his house and sexually molest them.

Speaking to journalists at the weekly media briefing, Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson highlighted that Jackson’s arrest followed a tip-off from one of the victims whose mother reported to the school administration and later engaged police to arrest the suspect.

Enanga said that within 3-4 weeks, this incident happens to be the 6th where boys and teenagers are sexually molested.

“You remember in Mbarara, we arrested a businessman in Kilembe cell, then in Nabweru where a teacher called Pakcho Derrick was charged in court for sexually molesting a 16-year-old.

We also had incidents registered in Jinja. We are still trying to establish the origin of a video where children young as 5 were being lured in such act,” he explained.

Concerning the arrest of the 6 suspects in Jinja who run a criminal sexual network, Enanga noted that similar gangs like this lure their victims by identifying a boyfriend who is attached to the recruit and start showering him with gifts, drinks and drugs.

“There’s also the party model, where they organize sex parties and people mingle amidst themselves. We are trying our best by extending inquiries into the 6 suspects with a wider scope of safeguarding the environment,” he added.

The suspects include Karungi Fabian, Kizza Brian a.k.a Chosen Muwela, Mnaya Sadat, Ibanda Geofrey, Katamba Hamza and Wasajja Shafiq.
