Police at Kabalagala Division have recovered 11 suspected stolen mobile phones and arrested one suspect following an intelligence-led operation in Kasanga Parish, Makindye Division, Kampala.

The operation was conducted on the night of July 23, 2026, after police received information that individuals involved in dealing in suspected stolen mobile phones were operating between Kampala City Centre and Kasanga.

Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said officers recovered the mobile phones during the operation, noting that the devices had been wrapped in foil paper in what appeared to be an attempt to block network signals and prevent tracking.

The recovered phones include eight iPhones, two Samsung devices, and one Itel phone.

Police said the suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue to establish the source of the phones and trace their rightful owners. Authorities have urged the public to report stolen phones and provide necessary details to assist in recovery efforts.
