UBOS announces dissemination calendar for major national surveys and census reports
According to UBOS Spokesperson Didacus Okoth, the calendar will guide the public release of key national reports derived from recent surveys and census activities.
The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has introduced a structured dissemination calendar for completed surveys and census reports to ensure timely access to official statistics that support national planning and informed decision-making.
According to UBOS Spokesperson Didacus Okoth, the calendar will guide the public release of key national reports derived from recent surveys and census activities.
Okoth revealed that the first report under the dissemination calendar will be the Uganda Malaria Indicator Survey, scheduled for release on March 12, 2026.
The report will provide updated data on malaria prevalence, control interventions, and their impact on communities across the country.
The release event will be attended by Jane Ruth Aceng, Uganda’s Minister of Health, who is expected to discuss the survey findings and their implications for strengthening malaria prevention and control efforts nationwide.
Okoth further explained that the Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children Census, scheduled for March 19, 2026, will highlight the challenges faced by orphans, street children, and children living in refugee settlements, including access to education, health services, and birth registration.
He added that the Multi-Dimensional Poverty Index Census Monograph, due for release on March 26, 2026, will provide deeper insights into poverty by examining various deprivations such as lack of sanitation, limited access to education, and other basic social services.
According to Okoth, the Baseline Education Census, expected on April 9, 2026, will present a comprehensive overview of school infrastructure, staffing levels, and student enrollment across primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions.
The National Human Resource Survey Report, scheduled for April 23, 2026, will provide detailed data on Uganda’s labour supply and the skills profile of graduates from higher education institutions.
Okoth also noted that the Uganda Aquaculture Census Report, expected on April 30, 2026, will present the first comprehensive national data on fish farming practices, including cage farming on Lake Victoria and pond farming in other regions of the country.
The final report under the current dissemination calendar will be the Harmonized Indicator Survey Report, set for release on May 7, 2026, which will provide updated indicators on household living conditions, poverty levels, and employment trends in Uganda.
Okoth emphasized that all reports will be publicly accessible through the UBOS website and will play a critical role in supporting evidence-based planning, informed public debate, and effective policy formulation.
