Kampala, July 22, 2026 — Maroons Football Club has confirmed that its stadium approval for the 2026/27 season has been deferred after the venue did not meet some requirements under the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Club licencing process.
Kampala, July 22, 2026 — Maroons Football Club has confirmed that its stadium approval for the 2026/27 season has been deferred after the venue did not meet some requirements under the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Club Licensing process.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the club said its home ground is currently undergoing renovation works and expressed confidence that the upgrades will be completed before the start of the new league season.
“Maroons FC respects the licensing process and remains fully committed to fulfilling every aspect of FUFA’s Club Licensing requirements,” the club said.
The club added that the renovation works are progressing well and that it is working with relevant stakeholders to ensure the stadium meets all FUFA standards and receives approval in time.
Maroons reassured supporters, partners and the football fraternity that the temporary setback would not affect preparations for the upcoming football calendar.
The club will begin its FUFA Super 8 campaign on Saturday, August 1, 2026, with a 7:00pm kick-off against SC Villa at MTN Omondi Stadium, a match expected to help the team build momentum ahead of the new season.
Maroons FC thanked FUFA for its efforts in improving standards in Ugandan football and reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism both on and off the pitch.
